FANUC Robots and Robotic Automation From Methods

FANUC produces the broadest lineup of industrial robots in the industry. At Methods, FANUC robots are at the core of every automation solution we build. Whether you need a compact six-axis arm tending a single RoboDrill or a heavier robot handling larger parts in a multi-machine cell, we engineer the full solution from concept through integration and ongoing support.

FANUC LR Mate Robots

The FANUC LR Mate 200iD is the robot behind most of Methods’ pre-engineered RoboDrill automation cells. A compact six-axis arm with standard IP67 protection, the LR Mate delivers fast, repeatable part loading and unloading without requiring a large footprint around the machine. It powers the Plus-K60, the Plus K Max, and other configurations where space is tight and cycle time matters.

FANUC M-20iB/25 Robot

For applications requiring more payload capacity and reach than the LR Mate, the FANUC M-20iB/25 serves as the heart of the Plus Big-K automation system. This next-generation robot features a lightweight upper arm and wrist with advanced servos, enabling faster cycles and better throughput. The Plus Big-K is designed to handle heavier workloads and larger parts, with the ability to load up to 120 pallets using a 52 mm clamping pattern, making it ideal for shops running lights-out for extended periods.

FANUC CRX Collaborative Robots

FANUC’s CRX cobot series is designed for shops that need flexible automation without the complexity of traditional robotic cells. The Sidekick automation system pairs a FANUC CRX 10iA/L six-axis cobot with an aluminum extrusion framed table, infeed/outfeed pallet storage, and Methods’ user interface for standard machine load/unload programming via FANUC FOCAS protocol. The result is an easy-to-deploy, portable solution that can be set up in front of a RoboDrill and designed to work alongside operators without traditional guarding, making it a practical entry point for job shops introducing their first robot. Methods also offers a Job Shop Collaborative cart-based CRX system that enables shops to start automating without a large investment or new machine tool purchases.

Pre-Engineered Automation Systems

Methods offers a full lineup of floor-ready Methods Night Crew automation systems that pair FANUC robots directly with the FANUC RoboDrill:

The Plus-K60 is a compact robotic cell that adds just 32 inches of width to a medium bed RoboDrill. Powered by a FANUC LR Mate 200iD, it exchanges both part carriers and tool holders through a 60-position rotary storage carousel and 44 extra tool positions, requiring no robot programming or machine setup between jobs.

The Plus K Max builds on the same concept with a dual rotary storage carousel holding 96 part/carrier positions and up to 92 tools total, paired with the new 28-tool turret and a FANUC LR Mate 200iD robot for extended lights-out manufacturing.

The Plus-E takes a different approach, using a space-saving elevator system that manipulates a stack of pallets. The robot pulls out one pallet at a time to load and unload raw and finished parts into the RoboDrill, then cycles the elevator to the next. The system adds only 30 inches of width, making it ideal for mid-to-high volume work where floor space is limited.

The Plus Big-K is built around the FANUC M-20iB/25 robot for heavier workloads and larger parts, with up to 120 pallet positions and configurations supporting parts up to 250 mm in diameter. It is designed for shops that need extended unmanned machining or high-mix, low-volume flexibility.

The Sidekick and Job Shop Collaborative are portable, CRX cobot-based systems that let shops start automating without a large capital commitment or changes to existing machine tools.

For production requirements beyond these standard configurations, Methods also builds fully custom turnkey automation solutions.

FANUC RoboCut Wire EDM Machines

The FANUC RoboCut CiC-Series wire EDMs are built for precision cutting on complex geometries and difficult-to-machine materials. Every RoboCut runs on the FANUC 31i-WB control with the intuitive iHMI user interface, giving operators a familiar FANUC programming environment with advanced features purpose-built for wire EDM. The patented twin servo wire tension control ensures accurate, straight cuts with virtually no recast, and the standard economy mode reduces both wire consumption and energy usage without sacrificing part quality.

FANUC RoboCut C400iC

The RoboCut C400iC is the compact model in the CiC-Series. It features the FANUC 31i-WB control with the new iHMI user interface, an enhanced automatic wire feed system, and an advanced all-digital power supply. FANUC’s AWF3 system has been engineered to thread workpieces up to 10 inches thick. Built 100% in Japan, the C400iC delivers the same FANUC reliability and control architecture as the larger models in the lineup.

FANUC RoboCut C600iC

The RoboCut C600iC is the versatile all-around platform in the series, offering a larger work envelope for a wider range of part sizes and geometries. Its AWF3 system has been enhanced to thread through workpieces up to 16 inches thick. The C600iC handles everything from production runs of stamping dies and injection mold components to prototype parts, making it a strong fit for die/mold and general precision manufacturing work.

FANUC RoboCut C800iC

The RoboCut C800iC is the large-bed model in the CiC-Series, available in 12-inch and 20-inch Z-axis configurations. It is designed for shops machining larger workpieces that exceed the travel capacity of the C400iC and C600iC, including large progressive dies, structural aerospace components, and medical device tooling. The C800iC shares the same FANUC 31i-WB control, AWF3 wire feed, and twin servo tension system as the rest of the lineup, ensuring consistent cutting performance and operator familiarity across all three models.
