The Sidekick
The Sidekick Automation system is an automation platform that offers a FANUC CRX-10iA/L Collaborative Robot mounted to a standardized table designed specifically to load and unload a FANUC RoboDrill machining center, providing crucial support for shops looking for an extra hand.
Users have the option to either setup end of arm tooling, part grid plates, and programming on their own OR purchase a ‘Ready-to-Run’ package from Methods that comes pre-programmed with a standardized infeed/outfeed grid plate and end of arm tooling on the robot.
The Sidekick BASE package includes:
- The FANUC CRX-10iA/L robot
- The table
- A pre-setup Ethernet/IP Interface between the robot and machine tool.
From there the end user is responsible for all ancillary equipment for making the system run as well as the robot programming.
The Sidekick Ready-to-Run package includes:
- The FANUC CRX-10iA/L robot
- Pre-programming from Methods for single piece flow of one-operation parts with an easy-to-use Guided User Interface
- Within minutes an operator is able to setup a part to run through the system.

Methods User Interface: Standard machine load/unload programming to pair with the FANUC RoboDrill utilizing FANUC FOCAS based protocol, making the easy-to-use collaborative robot even easier!
