Field Service Engineer - Elgin, IL

We have an immediate opening for a CNC Machine Tool Service Engineer in the Illinios, IL area. This position will report to Methods Elgin.

The qualified candidate should have at least 5 years hands on experience in:

  • CNC Lathe and Mill operation, installation and repair
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and servo systems
  • Basic CNC Programming capability
  • Spindle replacement and repair
  • Ball-Screw alignment and replacement
  • Excellent customer relationship skills

Some travel within Northern Illinois only is required.

CNC Service Technician - Wixom, MI

We have an immediate need for a CNC Service Technician to work from our Wixom Michigan Technical Center. If you are a top performing, highly skilled and motivated service engineer who can perform installations, and both electrical and mechanical repairs, we need you! Applicants should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Basic CNC operation background
  • Knowledge of automatic tool changers, pallet changers, ball screw & axis support bearing replacement, turret and spindle alignments, and spindle cartridge replacement
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and ladder diagrams
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Working with customers
  • This position will require travel

Automation/Robotics Engineer - Sudbury, MA

Department: Application Engineering, Automation Group

Reports To: Automation Manager

Responsibility:

Assist in the assembly, programming, installation, and training of industrial robot based automation systems for machine tool loading, both at Methods' facility and at customer's facilities nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming of robots
  • Mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and installation of robot based automation systems at both Methods' facility and customer facilities nationwide.
  • Training of end users/customers both at Method's facility and customer facilities nationwide.
  • Servicing customer with both phone and onsite support
  • Assist in the debugging of complete robotic and machine tool systems.
  • Writing technical processes/manuals for robotic systems
  • Managing a list of tasks with regards to a timeline to meet delivery dates

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Fanuc Robotics robot programming proficiency preferred, would consider other robot programming proficiencies.
  • Electrical/electronic aptitude including knowledge of basic electronic components, circuits, electrical diagrams.
  • Knowledgeable in working with ladder diagrams and programs.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with both co-workers and customers
  • Proficient in math
  • CNC programming knowledge helpful
  • Ability to travel is a must.

Education:

  • High School required
  • College, Electrical Engineering Degree Preferred
